Jobless Claims: Week of 11/20


Initial Jobless Claims, which measures individuals filing for unemployment benefits for the first time, fell by 71,000 to 199,000 to the lowest number in 50 years. Continuing Claims, which measures individuals who continue to receive benefits, decreased 60,000 to 2.05M, a post pandemic low. Total individuals receiving benefits in all programs declined by 752,000 to 2.4M, which is a good figure.
